ASUS launched the Zenfone 5 Series recently which consists of three different models that go from the mainstream budget line to top-tier flagship line. However, ASUS is not stopping there. According to a recent report, ASUS will unveil a new smartphone in Computex 2018 that’ll have an AMOLED Display.
It was quite a bit surprising to see that even the Zenfone 5Z which is the flagship of the bunch shipped with a Super IPS+ Display. However, the new device coming in Computex will likely use an AMOLED panel. The company hasn’t unveiled any further details about the device but, they have confirmed that the upcoming device is not from the upcoming Zenfone 6 series. That’s kinda expected as the Zenfone 5 series is relatively new & the variants are not yet available in many countries.
If we had to guess then, the new device might be a successor to the Zenfone AR or it might represent the Zenfone Zoom series. However, the AMOLED display suggests that the device might be Google ARCore compatible. In that case, the hardware might just be flagship grade as well. So, maybe a Snapdragon 845 with 6GB or 8GB RAM. Anyway, we would love to see a Triple camera setup making wonders here.
Computex 2018 will take place in Taipei, Taiwan from 5th June to 9th June and ASUS expected launch several PC products there along with this new smartphone.
