Black Shark 2 India Launch

Xiaomi is all set to launch their newest gaming flagship in India. The Black Shark 2 is coming to India on 27th May & it’ll be sold exclusively via. Flipkart. Flipkart is teasing this phone as a part of their upcoming Edge program for a while now & now they’ve confirmed the Black Shark 2 India launch date on their website.

Black Shark 2 Specification Highlights

If you aren’t aware already, Black Shark is the gaming smartphone range from Xiaomi. They are generally topped with specs & have some kind of RGB scheme going on, in the design. The Black Shark 2 is no exception here. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855, up to 12 Gigabytes of RAM & it has internal memory options up to a massive 256 Gigabytes. The 6.39 inch AMOLED display supports HDR but, it’s not one of those high-refresh rate displays if you’re looking for that. There is a 4000 mAh Battery that supports fast charging up to 27 watts.

The Cameras aren’t generally the biggest focus of gaming smartphones. But, the Black Shark 2 has a 48MP f-1.8 main Rear Camera alongside a 12MP f-2.2 Telephoto unit. On the front it spots a 20MP f-2.0 Selfie shooter. So, it’s safe to say that the Black Shark 2 hasn’t compromised in the Camera department at all.

Expected Pricing

So, it’s kinda a pretty compelling package actually. Now, the main factor that will decide the faith of Black Shark 2 India is going to be the price. Right now ASUS sells their ROG phone for 69,999 INR. That phone has a 90Hz AMOLED display, a better build quality & much more. But, it’s powered by the older gen Snapdragon 845. So, if Xiaomi prices their Black Shark 2 near that 44,999-49,999 price point, even then it’s hard to say if it’ll sell at that price. But, we are quite skeptical about the pricing this time. Maybe Xiaomi will price it even lower, who knows!

As we’ve mentioned earlier, Black Shark 2 India launch is happening on 27th May. So, we’ll hopefully have the pricing info by then.
