According to the external analysis Apple Titan last year dropped the plan to introduce their self-driving vehicle. But recently we have been seeing big brands like TESLA, BMW and other top brands are showing their interest. We saw few of the prototypes in the CES, which has encouraged users to buy one of these.
According to CNBC Beijing that Apple is on the process to manufacture their first ever self-driving vehicle, but they are in need of an OEM.
We believe that if Apple comes out with their first self-driving vehicle, then it will be a great combination of hardware & Software where the vehicle can collaborate with iPhone’s, iPad’s or even Mac to operate. This seems exciting, but at the same time it’s a challenge for Apple to search an OEM, as it’s not that easy for Apple to manufacture a self-made car.
This got confirmed when Department of Motor Vehicles – California gave permission to Apple (along with other brands) for testing their self -driving cars.
“The California Autonomous Vehicle Testing Regulations require every manufacturer authorized to test autonomous vehicles on public roads to submit an annual report summarizing the disengagements of the technology during testing.“
The above is an official content you can find in DMV website. It seems that we can see Apple’s first car before January 2018, as all the company have to send the disengagement report before January of every year. But the biggest challenge for Apple here is to find the OEM.
CarPlay is one of the latest products by Apple where user can project their phone in the car control panel in order to use that application. Also Apple’s property like Siri is one of its kinds, which we think can be one function to operate Apple’s car.
It is still a surprise for us & Apple to get their hands on the Apple Car, but the first thing they have to do is ‘Find A Manufacturer.’ It seems more of a Fantasy than a Car.
